As promised...

....my first contribution to this fab Craftzone blog. I am very happy to be asked to contribute. I have been painting canvases for a couple of years now after leaving my job as a textile designer to stay at home with my children. It has turned from being a hobby to a small business although it is always a pleasure to paint up a new idea. My business, Colourart allows me to do what I like best, picking up on trends, then sketching up ideas and putting paint to canvas. This is a page from my sketch book (left) with my nursery artwork in mind. This page is very colourful and it helped when coming up with colours and ideas for my Fairy, Flower and Bee canvas (right)

Thanks for looking at our collective craft blog.

Cards and Stuff

Hello crafters, Vonnie here!

I'm really pleased to have been invited to contribute to this fabby bloggy thingy! I love making cards, I make them purely for personal use, have never sold or attempted to sell anything. Wouldn't know where to start actually! I've dabbled in decoupage, played with peel-offs and enjoyed embellishments for just over a year now and am always keen to try out new stuff. I learnt to do some origami after going on holiday to Tokyo last year and have used a few bits on my cards which I've been really happy with.

The one thing I find difficulty with is cards for boys and men and I have yet to find anything to really inspire me. I am sitting here right now racking my brain as I have to make a card for a 13 year old boy - I have until tomorrow afternoon so any ideas would be welcome!

Well I think I've bored you enough, so thanks once again for inviting me to share this exciting project.

Back to Front

Hello from me, and thanks for inviting me to blog on craftzone. I thought I would start by posting one of the cards I made today. I thought I was doing so well until I finished the card and realised I had made it back to front, which is great if your left handed. Which I am NOT! OH well it will add to my catalogue of disasters. I've also yet to discover the best way to take photos of the cards I make because they never seem to look quite as nice in a photo than in real time...... answers on a postcards please.........

Hellooooooo !!

I made it !! Incywincy very kindly invited me to become a Craftzone blogger and who was I to refuse ??

As I blog lajlaj (Nadine) is fiddling about with my website and has added some really cool "Buy / Add to Cart" Buttons, has added a "View cart" link at the top of every page which is fantastic - you don't know how frustrating it is to have a "not functioning properly" website ! And also done some other bits and pieces, all of which have made the site look really great. Why not take a look and let me / lajlaj know what you think ?!

First time blogger!

Well, I am so thrilled to be part of this new blog. I have never blogged before but I hope I will become a valued member of the team. I've got an hour to myself now so I had better do some sewing.

Welcome to CraftZone

Hi and welcome to Craftzone which has been set up by some of the crafty members of Mumszone to bring you news and views of our latest crafty antics.
Some of us are work at home parents and sell our crafts and some of us craft because it's what we love doing.
___
In this blog as well as giving you a window on our crafty world we hope to bring you ideas, tips, demo's and a bit of a laugh along the way. Please have a look at the photo's of our work which you can find down the right hand side of the blog where you will also find links to individual blogs that some of us write. We'd love to hear your comments and suggestions of things you'd like to see. Enjoy our blog as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.
